Duration of Therapy and Fees
Welcome and thank you for attending Liz Wright Counselling and Psychotherapy. My fee is €110 for individual therapy (50 minutes) and €150 for couples therapy (60 minutes). I accept payment by cash on the day of the appointment, or by Stripe or Revolut, (ph:0868440376 @lizziekate), 24 hours prior to the appointment. Let me know if Stripe is your preference and I will send you a link for payment.
Many health insurance providers reimburse part of the fee if your therapist, like myself, is a member of IAHIP or are registered with ICP. Also, I believe that psychotherapy is considered a health expense by revenue once it has been recommended by a medical practitioner.
After the initial appointment, if you wish to return, a verbal contract of 6 sessions is recommended. After these sessions we will consider if we will proceed with further appointments.
Reduced Rate
If my fee is outside your budget I can direct you to lower cost services. Alternatively, if the fee is prohibitive for you and you do not have health insurance, I reserve one individual therapy slot for the reduced rate of €60 per session for the first seven sessions. After the seventh session, the rate will increase to the standard fee, with no obligation to continue. Please let me know if this is of interest to you.
Confidentiality and Limits of Confidentiality
All therapy is confidential in accordance with the code of ethics of IAHIP. While the service is confidential, there are particular circumstances where, for reasons of safety, this confidentiality cannot be upheld:
-where the client discloses intentions or a plan to harm another person
-where the client discloses or implies an intention of suicide
-if information is given about children who may be at risk, it is my policy, and in keeping with the requirements of legislation, to report this information to TUSLA child protection services. My work respects the principles of Children First guidelines 2011.
Cancellation
If you wish to cancel or reschedule an appointment the following conditions apply:
-for more than 48 hours notice: no fee is charged
-between 48 hours and 24 hours notice: a €50 fee will apply
-failure to attend the appointment or cancellation within 24 hours: full fee will be charged.
Receipts
If you would like a receipt please let me know. Most private health insurance plans provide partial cover for counselling/psychotherapy. I am a member of IAHIP and I am registered with ICP.
Court
I do not write court reports or letters, nor do I make court appearances as a professional witness.
